Introduction to Computer Assisted Songwriting - Level - Beginner

This introductory session will open up your mind to the infinite possibilities available to you when you use computers to write music. In this session, music will be created with input from student and instructor. Once you have seen what these tools can do for you, you will never look at songwriting the same way again. If:

  • you've never used a computer to help you write music,
  • you can't play a musical instrument but you would love to write music if it were as easy as pointing and clicking,
  • you play an instrument but would like to have a band (computer) at your fingertips available whenever you want to jam,
  • you are an innocent bystander who is curious about music technology,
  • or you have music in your head that needs to get out but you don't know how to do it,

you will want to attend one of these sessions.

Computers not only allow you to record, they also allow you to cut and paste music, or draw it. You have absolute control over every note. You can select any combination of musical instruments to play your music. You can literally write a symphony just by pointing and clicking.

Imagine hearing the music playing live as you are composing it and changing it and rearranging it. Imagine having an orchestra with instruments from around the world all at your command doing exactly what you want them to. Maybe you want that piano part doubled by an oboe or a distorted electric guitar. Or both.

The technology is here and getting cheaper every year and if you like music, you need to know about it. If you have never been exposed to this part of songwriting or even if you have never written music before, when you see how easy it is to do, you may find yourself with a new hobby or career on your hands.

Private sessions are 2 hours long and cost $40.00. Bring a friend for only $20.00 more. You will come away with a greater awareness of the infinite possibilities available to you. You will learn different ways of thinking about music. All of your questions will be answered.

Sessions are on Saturdays. Email for available times.
